Black Girl Magic made reading fun and fly at the Essence Festival with Toya Wright and Myss Shan
Exuding power and poise, television personality Toya Wright, and publisher Myss Shan, headlined an empowerment panel centered around reading and black girl magic.
Celebrating reading and entrepreneurship, hundreds flocked to the art district in New Orleans for a literary experience that brought readers face-to-face with their favorite authors and bloggers. Presented by publisher and author Myss Shan while featuring reality star, Toya Wright many enjoyed intimate book signings, an empowerment panel, savory Cajun specialty foods, and live music provided by DJ Dimepiece.
The highlighted segment of the event was the panel of black entrepreneurial women and men who have all authored a book at some point. Jackie Christie of Basketball Wives, actor Darrin Dewitt Henson, Tamika Newhouse creator of the AAMBC Awards and publisher of Delphine Publications, and Legendary LaQ’uita, co-creator of The Lit Plug. The panel was moderated by former NFL player turned author, Jay Barnett.
Partnered with brands such as Premier Events, Haus Of Refinement, Bossard Cognac, and Delphine Legacy Media, VIP attendees walked the red carpet and enjoy cocktails with their fellow fly girls and gents.
