“It’s selfish for me to hold on to this classified information
when I have the tools to succeed.”
Canal explains how he uses his top-notch information about business leadership. From going through mistakes and losing a million dollar business at a young age, he has the do’s and don’ts of business. Canal has the tools to win and we should all take heed.
Since 2011 Canal has been working with MillerCoors, introducing “Tap the Future,” in efforts of empowering upcoming businesses and turning them into multi-million dollar businesses. Every year Canal has been on tour visiting major cities like Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, and Houston to find people with creative and original business ideas and help them take their ideas to the next level. With the help of Sean O’Brien and Evan Wray, co-founders of Swyft Media, Kenny Burns, “The Lifestyle Specialist,” and Draymond John, CEO of FUBU and co-host of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” Canal has been working towards helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life.
“Tap the Future” is not the only way Canal is giving out the tools to succeed, but he also drops gems in his new book “The Mind of a Winner.” The “economic empowerment advocate” gives us straight to the point information on power moves and personal growth. He could not stress enough about how important hard work is. “Nothing will work unless you do.” He explained the difference between a hobby and a business, which is “the discipline of work you put behind it.”
“The Mind of a Winner” gets into the minds of successful people like Fashion Influencer Mary Seats, Real Estate Mogul Barbara Corcoran, and Grammy Award winner 2 Chainz, and he picks apart their brains. Yes, they all have different jobs, but they all have success in common. “The connection between these people are real.” You can read these stories and see yourself. Canal makes sure he shows that people like us can become proficient at their job. Whether that be fashion, real estate, or music. These people took their hobbies and turned them into a business. “The Mind of a Winner is put in position to help the culture become better.”
The advice that Steve Canal gives to upcoming entrepreneurs is structure people around you who want to see you win. Always have a mentor and board of advisers to see you through your upcoming success, and “the most important thing you can do is time management because you cannot get your time back.”
